Class Announcements This week in our class...I hope everyone has had a wonderful start to their 2012 year. We are back in the swing of things. The students are once again working hard. We have reached the half-way point of the school year and before you know it, it'll be June and there is still LOTS of learning to be done. Please continue to work with your child on counting a combination of coins that equals up to $2.00. Some students continue to have a difficult time with basic addition and subtraction facts. In order for them to be successful in 3rd grade math they must be fluent with these facts. We are finishing our Social Studies unit on Community Changes. If you have seen your community change and grow please discuss with these changes with your child. Their study guide was sent home on Friday and the assessment will be on Wednesday 1/11. We are starting our Science unit on Matter. All that is around us is some form of matter. Matter is either solid, liquid or a gas, such as the air we breathe. We will investigate the properities of matter through hands-on activities that will help students understand matter better. As you encounter objects in everyday activities ask your student to identify which form of matter it is. Parent-Teacher conferences are coming up on the 18th January. If I need to meet with you I'll contact you. If you need or would like to meet with me please send me a note or email me so that I can arrange the best time. Thank you for all you do to help insure that your child is ready for school everyday! Mrs. Rosas Class Files
